Whoops, definitely didn’t mean to take a break from posting but here we are…
I honestly got super busy being in a few aerial productions as well as a whole snowball of events in my personal life and had to make the decision to step away from cosplay in the month of May and June (which is kind of a lie since I was also making costuming for those productions, which I will post here too). But what it meant was that I had to put on hold all the things I wanted to do with this blog, but also all the cool projects I was working on.
So here’s what I was supposed to work on/am working on:
-I was trying to get something ready for Denver Fan Expo’s competition, which ultimately didn’t happen, and won’t now that it’s way way over
-I was working on figuring out how to color stretch vinyl in a way that will work long-term. I actually got a really decent number of swatches I was working on, but haven’t yet found the solution I’m looking for. I’m excited to post about this though, and to dive back into it.
-I’ve been making a new mannequin for myself. I got pretty far with this, I have the main body done, I’m just unhappy with the stand and feel like I want to redo the whole thing (which I definitely don’t have time for) but I’ll post about its progress soon
-I’m trying to get ready for DragonCon, which is actually a kind of insane amount of work even when I’m not planning on competing in any competitions. I want to take much more costuming than I did last year and have 2 groups that I’m trying to finish cosplays for, so other cosplans are on hold until I get these
-I’ve been building a large metal pannier for a 1700s inspired fantasy dress…and failing miserably! I’ve rebuilt this dang thing 4 times now and keep thinking I’ve figured it out only for cold cruel reality to showcase how far I have to go…I’ll get there, it’ll get done
Long story short, I might not have been posting, but I’m definitely working on cosplay stuff. I’m also terrible at posting WIPs! I’ll get there, promise!
